Tyler is a freelance writer and photographer for Colorado Central Magazine, The Chaffee County Times, Colorado Collective, High Notes Magazine and Westword. After graduating with a BA in Convergence Journalism from Metro State Denver, Tyler built a freelance career in multimedia and odd jobs. He then completed a Masters in Environmental Management from Western State Colorado where he planned and executed the Nduru Sustainable Development Project. The project expanded the work carbon offset B-Corporation, Eco2librium. For the last seven years he also pursued professional guiding in rafting, splitboarding, and climbing, as well as ski/snowboard instructing. He taught environmental science at Colorado Mountain College, for one year. Most recently he started a food distribution and timber service, Stand Up Fruit Company.
Grimes shoots mountain adventure sports and the brands that make it possible. He is always seeking opportunities to combine media, outdoor education, environmentalism, guiding, adventure and entrepreneurship.
